Attendance Information

It is very important that students attend school each day and arrive at school on time.  However, please do not send your child to school if he or she is ill.  Regular attendance is vital to academic success.

Late Arrivals

Children who arrive late must report to the office so that we can record them as present.

Reporting Absences

Parents are asked to notify the school either by calling 604-892-9394 or emailing [email protected] if their child is going to be absent or late. Messages can be left night or day. Alternatively, a note can be sent in advance to the child’s teacher if you know that the child will be away for an appointment or for other reasons. If your child is absent when teachers check attendance at 9:00 AM and the school has not been informed of the child’s absence, then the school will call parent/guardians to follow up.

If your child arrives to school late then they must report to the office before going to their classroom. This lets the office know not to phone home on a marked absence when the student has arrived late.

When Children are Ill

If students become ill or are injured we send those students home as soon as possible. Our practice is to call parents and to ask that the student be picked up. For this reason, it is important that parents keep work and emergency phone numbers updated in our office files.
