Virtual Library Learning Commons
Welcome to VCE Virtual Library Learning Commons (VLLC)
"The Virtual Library Learning Commons needs the same attention as the physical environment. It is an organized but collaborative space for learning. It is not a replacement for the physical LLC but an extension of it to make the LLC available to students and learners 24/7."
The Virtual Library Learning Commons:
An informative, safe, engaging and inclusive website for our community to think, wonder, create and collaborate beyond the four walls of the school library.
The VLLC Goal:
- To create a Virtual LLC that empowers learners to co-create and share ideas and knowledge with a broader learning community.
To ensure all students have the skills to use the VLCC safely
To include content that is meaningful, easy to find and informative for all members
To create a website to engage our community and support literacy in our classrooms and at home
“A Learning Commons is a common, or shared, learning ‘space’ that is both physical and virtual. It is designed to move students beyond mere research, practice, and group work to a greater level of engagement through exploration, experimentation, and collaboration. A Learning Commons is more than a room or a website. A Learning Commons allows users to create their own environments to improve learning. A Learning Commons is about changing school culture, and about transforming the way learning and teaching occur. ”
