Winter Concert

We are looking forward to the Winter Concert next week. This week the students have been working with Lauren from SoundKreations to learn and present programs around the Hip-Hop Dance and Culture. We will be presenting what we’ve learned at our Winter Concert on Monday, January 30th.

Our Gym can legally hold 300 people based on the BC Fire Code regardless of the size and age of the person.  There are 250 seats available for each performance.  There will be an Afternoon Matinée (1:30 to 2:30) and an Evening Soirée (6:30 to 7:30) where each class will perform their dance.  Families can obtain two (2) tickets, through Eventbright, for one of these events.  We encourage those who are able to attend the afternoon session to do so in order to leave space for those who can only attend the evening session.  If you need more tickets, please contact the school to be placed on a waiting list.

The PAC is hosting a bake sale during both Winter Concert shows on Monday, January 30th.  If you would like to donate some treats for the bake sale, that would be greatly appreciated!

Treats can be dropped off at the bake sale table after 1pm for the afternoon show and after 6pm for the evening show.  Please label any plates etc. with the student’s name and classroom so we can get dishes back to you!  The bake sale will be open from 1-3pm and 6-8pm on Monday.  The PAC thanks you for your support!

Basketball – Grade 5/6

Monday and Tuesday practices are at long recess 12:02-12:27.  There will be an upcoming schedule for game against other schools to follow.

Ski School

Its ski season! If your child is attending Friday ski school this year and you have not already let us know, please send an email to the office at [email protected] so that we can mark them away for all Fridays until the spring.

Parking Lot

We need your help, the parking lot is getting a bit crazy! As you know our parking lot is very small, please consider walking or biking in but if you do drive in, please use the visitor parking spaces or consider parking behind the school on Hemlock and walking in. When parents take up spots in the staff parking area we do not have enough space for teachers and EAs to park. We now have a portable and emergency vehicles need access to the left side of the school. Please do not park in any undesignated spot (along the entrance, exits or tree line) as this impacts the emergency vehicles access.

Literacy Week

We will be celebrating literacy week January 30 – February 3. Please watch for more information in next week’s newsletter.

  • Please have your child stay home if they are not feeling well. Thank you for continuing to monitor for any cold/flu/COVID symptoms each day.
  • If your child will be away please let the office know by calling 604-892-9394 and leaving a message or by emailing [email protected]
  • We live in a rain forest. Please send (or try to convince) your child with warm clothing that can handle getting wet as they spend at least an hour outside each day.  It is often a good idea to send them with some dry clothing (especially socks) to change into if they get wet.
  • Please send your child with a water bottle each day.
